Main projects to date:

  • Trees of Yerevan

This is a web application for crowd-mapping urban trees. People walk around the city, put trees on the map, measure them, take pictures, add comments. The inspiration came from a similar project in New York. Our project was launched when mass felling began in Yerevan, which provoked protests.

  • Kanach Yerevan

An informal social movement in defense of the trees of Yerevan. We monitor the trees with the Trees of Yerevan app, publish news, articles, and hold actions and events. We are running campaigns to attract birds, create proper lawns, etc. I am part of the core team, regularly shoot thematic videos, and prepare educational text materials.

  • City Beds

After a year of living in Yerevan, I started to miss farming (in fact, I never stopped), and decided to try what plant growing technologies can be used in the city for its benefit. Now I grow tree seedlings on my balcony, take notes, and gather experience for its wider application in the urban environment.

Abandoned and closed projects

  • Yasny Les

This is our country project, which we started in 2012 when we moved from the city to the village. The main idea was to create an ecovillage, with a focus on the division of labor, cooperation and the development of a full-fledged local economy.

We had 4 hectares of land. We organized a tourist camp, to which about a hundred people came every summer, mostly foreigners. There was a forest nursery where we grew seedlings for reforestation and for sale. We built a building for a rural school and events. We introduced an internal currency ("beans") to stimulate the local economy. We successfully promoted environmental initiatives, such as attracting bats.

Unfortunately, in March 2022 we had to leave. This project is now on pause.

  • tmradio.net

It was an online radio station that played free music, news, podcasts and live broadcasts of its own production. I launched it with a friend as a hobby, impressed by the radio "Echo of Moscow". For this radio, I wrote a broadcast automation system ardj, which played music, received feedback and requests from listeners via Jabber. We had our own hotline - those who wished could call and leave a voice message, which was played several times on the air. All live broadcasts were automatically processed and published on the website and on Twitter.

It was very cool and fun, and then I left for the village and everything stopped.

  • Free Music Hub

It was a site (aggregator) with a collection of free music that could be used for free in podcasts and videos. It was completely free music, CC, royalty free and various other types of licenses.

  • Dead Channel

It was a "promo group" created to promote the "dark scene" in St. Petersburg while I lived there. (The dark scene is music in the style of EBM, Industrial, Dark Electro, Gothic, etc.) I created the group, worked with several like-minded people, DJs.

We had one-time and regular parties. For example, we had a series of "EBM Parties" that took place every two weeks. There was a series of "FUBAR", with a focus on expressiveness and performance; at the most memorable party, we smashed the dance floor with a tube TV, de-energized the building, but in general everything ended well and everyone was delighted.

Sometimes we held concerts, for example, we brought Combichrist to St. Petersburg for the first time.
